60th birthday present ideas

60th birthdays are a big deal for most people, for for a lot of them it means that retirement is getting that much closer.  For some people it's hard to think of something to get that person for there 60th birthday.  There are a lot of things you can get them that they will love, and a lot of those things can be purchased on the Internet.  These are things that you probably won't be able to find in stores, which makes them even more memorable.  You can find things that you think they have always wanted, or if it's for someone that has everything you can get them something that is personalized.  Something just from you, or your family.  These are all great things and with the huge variety of things I'm sure it will be easy for you to find something.  Here is a list of things that you can find them either on the Internet or at specialty stores around in your area.

Personalized plates, these plates are very nice and come in a huge variety of different sizes, shapes and styles.  What's so nice about these plates are that they can be personalized from your family to show the person that you love them.  You can get plates with things painted on them, or decorative plates that have ceramic figures that match the plates that represent your family.  The plates can also come with stuff already on them that say how much you love them.  What is nice to is that you can get these plates for any occasion, it doesn't have to be just for their birthday.

Another great idea would be some sort of basket.  Either a basket that has been premade with all the stuff that they like or a basket that you made yourself.  They both are very nice but it might mean more if it was a basket that you put together yourself with all the things that you know they love, whether it is a food basket or a knitting basket.  Anything that looks like it took more then you throwing a bow on it will be greatly appreciated I'm sure.

Something that would be nice is getting them something that would go with their hobbies, whether it would be tennis, or golfing, or any other active sport.  It would show that you care, and it will encourage them to go out and be active using the present that you got them.  It can be anything from a new tennis racquet or a personalized golf shaft for their putter or something.

Another great idea would be something that you can get together for them would be a family tree picture frame.  It can go back to just them or go back as far as you can, and put their whole family on it.  This again would be a great gift because it would have taken time and effort to make it. 

Something else that is a good idea would be finding old magazines that date back to when they were born.  A lot of places now are reprinting old magazines that way.  You can go to the day they were born and buy a reprint of the new york times.  Every page looks like the page that was printed there at that time.  You can also do that with TIME magazines as well.  It would be something fun for them to be able to flip through the pages and remember everything that had happened back then.

You can always get them a food of the month club membership, these places have gotten really good lately and it would be nice for them to receive a good cooked meal every month for a certain time.  These might be specially nice if they are unable to cook really good meals anymore for medical reasons or for whatever reason.

Something else you might consider would be getting them into a wine of the month club, or some other club where they can either interact with other people or do something that they think would be fun.  Or for a man you can get them into a beer of the month club, or some other club where he can hang with the fellas for a day.
